TSP Talk was developed by one of you, a TSP participant. My name is Tom Crowley and I have been involved in investing in one capacity or another since 1984. Following and anticipating the action of the market has been a hobby of mine. My ambition was to understand what makes it tick. I certainly don't claim to be a great market timer or guru but I have had some success managing my TSP account. I wanted to share what I know with others, as well as get others together to help each other, to grow our TSP accounts.
I started TSP Talk in January of 2004 and, after 25 years as a government employee, I resigned from my position in 2008 to take on the site full time.
Managing money is not much fun to many people. I happen to enjoy it. I saw some disturbing statistics way back in 2003 in the Thrift Savings Plan Highlights newsletter that showed that most people were not paying much attention to their accounts and were not taking advantage of many of the opportunities they had. I had wanted to create this website for several years but once the TSP went to five funds and daily transactions I thought it would be worthwhile to others, and I was right. We had a great response.
It was disappointing, but even when the TSP went from unlimited transactions to the current two interfund transfer limitation, we were still able to make decisions that could greatly affect our account balances.

This site isn't meant to primarily tell you what to do. The goal is to provide you with the information you need to help you make your own decisions. Premium Service subscribers will be in the know as to what the services are doing, but our free daily
market commentary can help you understand the market is the key.
My son Thomas, a.k.a. TommyIV in the forum, started to working with us while studying at the Utah State University, and since graduating has become a part of the team. He writes our Weekly Wrap Up each weekend, created and maintains much of the
Retirement Section, formats some of our content into web pages, does some of the administrative work, plus a whole lot of other things that frees me up to do what I like to do most - market analysis.
He now manages the Last Look premium service. Another service geared
toward helping you to make decisions about your account allocation. Much of TSP Talk is free, although we do offer
the premium services for a fee. Our three premium services are:
TSP Timing, run by James "RevShark" Deporre.
Intrepid Timer created by Michael Key.
TSP Talk Plus, by me, Tom Crowley.
The Last Look Report, Thomas A. Crowley IV.
Your feedback and input is encouraged on the TSP Talk Forum, which can be an invaluable source for shared information.
We can all use this to make more informed decisions.
