The C-fund has been the TSP fund to beat this year, and this week nobody could. The C-fund did not have the greatest single day return this week, the S-fund did on Monday, but the C-fund went five days without a loss. That did include a day with no return while the other TSP funds were in the negative. The five days accumulated to a return of 1.89% for the C-fund and all the TSP Talk AutoTracker members holding 100% C-fund through the week.

The stock market picked up some momentum yesterday with broad rally and the relief rally off the recent lows gets more respect as it closes in on the 2024 highs. Stocks opened lower on Wednesday but the bulls were battling back most of the day and by the close the indices were mixed. The Dow led with a healthy triple digit gain while the Nasdaq and small caps lagged with moderate losses. The S&P was flat for most of the day after overcoming the opening gap down, flipping back and forth between positive and negative territory, but closed even and near the highs of the day.

Stocks were mixed on Tuesday, although not exactly a turnaround Tuesday for the S&P 500 as the small gain made it a 4-day winning streak. We haven't seen 5 consecutive positive days for that index since January. The Nasdaq was down slightly and small caps did close down after a negative reversal day. Bond yields were down but remain above stubborn support.
