Why Financial Software Data Files? 
When it comes to investing I like to have many resources at my finger tips to process my thoughts especially when it comes to "BUY"ing and "SELL"ing securities.  Since there are few dynamic resources out there for TSP Funds I decided to utilized my financial software, Quicken®, to track my TSP portfolio.  But in order to utilize the software I had to develop a piece of software to retrieve the daily share prices from TSP.gov and format them so they could be imported into Quicken® (I am working a Data File for Microsoft Money®, it should be released soon).  Thus, the software below:

TSP Share Prices for Quicken®

Downloads:
> Daily TSP Share Prices (updated daily Monday-Friday 2030 EST with current day only)
> Running History TSP Share Prices (from June 2003 to present)

Procedures:
The following steps were performed using Quicken® Home & Business 2005 & 2007 Retirement Account.  Each of the TSP funds are entered into the registry as Mutual Funds using transactions BUY and SELL.

First Time Use:

1. ** BACKUP the Quicken® data files before proceeding

2. Open Quicken® and view Portfolio

3. Change/Add each of the TSP funds' Ticker Symbols to the following:

• L 2040 Fund => TSPL40F

• L 2030 Fund => TSPL30F

• L 2020 Fund => TSPL20F

• L 2010 Fund => TSPL10F

• L INCOME Fund => TSPLIF

• G FUND => TSPGF

• F FUND => TSPFF

• C FUND => TSPCF

• S FUND => TSPSF

• I FUND => TSPIF

4. Download and save the "Running History TSP Share Prices" data file from above

5. File->Import->Import Prices

6. Enter the file location and name (used in step 4)

7. Click OK, That is it, all historical prices are up to date!

Update/Import the Daily Data File:

1. Download and save the "Daily TSP Share Prices" data file from above

2. Open Quicken® and view the Portfolio

3. File->Import->Import Prices

4. Enter the file location and name (used in step 1)

5. Click OK, That is it, prices are updated!
