Overview Of Intrepid_Timer's Trading Strategies

Like what you're seeing on TSP Talk?  Why not Tell a Friend about us?  We'd really appreciate it, and they may too.  Thanks!

FYI, when I draw a trend line, I try and use lines with multiple data points. A trend line with only a couple of data points does not make a trend, not in my eyes anyway, although there is always a chance it could be the start of one. Please also keep in mind that these charts mean absolutely nothing to my timing system. They are only for your benefit to help you decide if you wish to follow a particular signal or not.

My timing system typically gives two buy signals for equities each month, but with the 2 IFT limit we have with TSP, we can only use one. I almost always use the first buy signal to move to 100% S fund as this is how all my back tested returns were derived, but I installed a new indicator in the spring of 2013 to help me to decide if I want to go with the 1st or 2nd buy signal of the month for TSP. I move to 100% F fund on either my system's 1st or 2nd sell signal of the month for equities and have proprietary timing patterns in place to tell me which sell signal "may" produce the best return in the F fund. Typically though, either sell signal for equities will produce a positive return in the F fund as bonds tend to move up when equities go down (not always of course).

Also, my system’s signals tell me how to move my TSP balance around, not my contributions. So when I say I am making an allocation change, I am referring to my balance and HAVE to use an IFT to do so. One doesn’t need to use an IFT to make a contribution change and what you have your new money  (contributions) buying is really up to you. We are traders, so that new money will be transferred to your new balance allocation at your next IFT anyway.

Live,
laugh and love!
