Today's Comments (Short Term Outlook)
Trend line slight of hand

Stocks tried to hang on yesterday, but by early afternoon, things went south and they couldn't recover as the indices closed near their lows.

The TSP stock funds dropped between 1% and 1.6%, while the F-fund (bonds) gained 0.22%.

The S&P 500 is really testing every level of support it can find.  If we don't see a "buy the dip" rally pretty quickly, things could really get interesting.  Look for 900 (50-day EMA) to 880 (prior low in this uptrend) as areas that really need to hold.

For those of you who happen to be subscribers to both Trader Fred and the Ebbchart systems, you are probably as confused as I am.  Fred's supplemental report has been quite active this week, and the Ebbchart system seems to be seeing something altogether different. This could be an indication that volatility is about to pick up.  The indicators are all over the place.

With this being an options expiration week, that makes sense as things could get a bit wild when volume increases toward the end of the week.

I'm on vacation this week so I'll cut it short today.  Thanks for reading!  See you tomorrow!
