Vacation - Spotty updates

Stocks were hit hard on Monday as the TSP stock funds lost 2% to 3% on the day.  Is this the start of a downturn, or a buying opportunity?

The stock charts have been looking better lately, but as I have been talking about the last couple of weeks, with bond yields climbing sharply lately, we were probably going to see either a drop in yields (bond prices and the F-fund moving higher) or stocks move lower - or both.  Yesterday we saw both as the F-fund did rally as stocks fell.

The S&P 500 is now back toward the lower end of its recent ascending trading channel, but it also broke below the support line, the closed just below the 20-day moving average, and the PMO indicator gave us another crossover sell signal.

This is a very tough call as anyone buying the dips would look to buy at this level, but the bears have been waiting for an opportunity to send the indices back down.  With all of the economic and geopolitical uncertainty out there, this could be their chance.  And if the technical picture deteriorates, they will really push their hand.

I will be on the road and out of town for the rest of the week so my commentary updates may be spotty.  The premium services will all get updated timely, but after that it will depend on my schedule.  If you are having any issues that require assistance, I will be checking my email, but less frequently.

That's all for today.  Thanks for reading!  See you tomorrow!
