I thought it was 2 moves a month and a 3rd if going to Safety. Did they give us an extra move a month ???

    From TSP.gov:

Reallocations and fund transfers are limited. Each calendar month, your first two reallocations or fund transfers may be used to redistribute money in your account among any of the TSP funds. After the first two of either type of transaction, for the remainder of the month, you can only move money into the G Fund.
Both of FWM's 3rd and 4th move were into the G-fund. After your two initial IFTs you can't do anything but transfer into the G-fund.

Oh...... I get it now. So after you first initial 2 moves per month, you can move as many times as you want as long as it's into G-Fund. I never really understood it that way. I thought you were only allowed a single third move into G.
Thanks !!!! That's really good to know.

You have to remember that if you use your first or second IFT for the month to move any percentage from any fund to the "G" fund it still counts as one of your allowed IFT's. An example would be the 4th day of the month you decided to use your first IFT to move a percentage from "S" fund to "G" fund. Then around the 15th of the month you decide to move a percentage from "G" fund back to the "S" fund. You have now used your 2 IFT's for the month and the only other option to make an IFT would be to the "G" fund.

I cannot move incrementally to G after my 2 IFTs! This is not like the old site when (after your first 2 IFT's you could move as much as you want and as many times as you want into the G fund. So I used my 2 official IFT's (currently 50G 30S 20C). I want to go 60G 20S 20C and it's not letting me! It says You are limited to 2 fund transfers/reallocations, including transfers in or out of the MFW each month. You may only move money into your G Fund until the beginning of next month."

    What is MFW??

So I tried moving 100% into G and it looks like it will allow me to to that. So my only option is to go 100%G which I really don't want to do.

Ok, I think I see now. If you had something in C and S You have to move something out of both C and S into G. You cant just pick one fund to decrease and move into G. So I tried 70G 15C 15S and it looks like it will let me do that. But that is still not how the old system worked.

Wow! That is sick and definitely different from how it worked previously. Thanks for mentioning this.

So here's the funny thing I thought about.
So they only allow us 2 IFT's a month initially (even if one of those is into G-Fund), because they say it's too much paperwork to process if they allow us more. But then after those are used up, we have infinite (one a day) moves into G-fund for the rest of that month. So in a month (say 30 days) I can use my first 2 allotted moves the first 2 days of the month, and then every day (28 times) for the rest of that month I can move lets say $10.00 a day into G-Fund, and that's perfectly fine and has no affect on paperwork and or processing ?????? WTF ? ? ? ? ? It's the same goddam thing.

I'm guessing that the unlimited moves into the "G" fund have no processing fees unlike moving multiple time between the other funds.

Good information. You are correct that it's not right and hopefully will be corrected.

So, if that's the case, then any moves to G-Fund shouldn't count against our allotted 2 IFT's for the month.
    For example:
1st move of the month 100% S (counts)
    2nd move of the month 100% G (shouldn't count)
    3rd move of the month 50%C / 50%S (counts)
4th move of the month 30%G (shouldn't count)
5th move of the month 70%G (shouldnt count)
    You get the idea . . . . .

The ones that run TSP are quite content at gleefully spoon feeding us a bunch of horse crap with the presumption that we'll just sit here and take it like a bunch of idiots.........
They do not care about us one bit.

Sorry FWM. didn't mean to clutter up your Account Thread. I'm out ......
