    Default IFT Question?

    Hello Folks,

I have a question about IFT's. I have an IFT left for June. I am currently 100% F, if I go into the S Fund 50%, can I still add to the S-Fund the following day, since I have money in there from my last IFT? I am guessing NO, but just want to make sure.

    thanks,

    B

No. That would make two IFT's. You said you only have one.

    JP,

Thank you for the response. Now, I read somewhere that you can transfer in increments of 1% if you have no IFT's left, can someone refresh my memory on that?

    thank you,

    B

Don't forget you still have unlimited IFTs to the "G" Fund!

the 1% increment thing, which I haven't tried, but others here have, is not a whole increment. You can go in and round up/down whatever fractions of a % of your account is split among. example: F balance currently 50.3% of your account, S currently 49.7% of your account....you can round up to 50%S, round down to 50%F in your account, and it doesn't count as an IFT somehow. but only do that after you've used your second IFT, don't do it as your second IFT unless that isi really what you want to do. really really want to do. it would be an ultra ultra conservative move if you use up your second IFT that way. Squalebear (do a member profile search for his thread) invented the technique a few years ago.

If you are out of IFTs for the month and are not 100% G, then you can submit additional IFTs to round up/round down an existing position. If you are currently 50.19% S and 49.81% I, then you can rebalance to 51% S and 49% I.

Quick question about IFTs as well. With the limit of 2 IFTs per month does that mean the very first day of the month and the very last day of the month or is it 1 IFT per pay period (2 weeks)? I think this past April or so there were 3 pay periods for the month.

Also, if you are 100% G, you can change your contributions to do 1% moves. Simply change your contribution allocation to the various equity funds. For example, if you moved your contribution to L-Income, L-2020, L-2030, L-2040, L-2050, C, S, and I, then after the contribution you may be 99.2% G and .1% in all of the other 8 funds. At that point, you could submit an IFT to go 92% G and 1% in each of the other 8 funds.

It is 2 IFTs per calendar month.

It is two IFTs per calendar month. It has nothing to do with paydays.
