make sure you specify DIRECT TRANSFER if you want the money to go directly from one account to another without a cash distribution to YOU. NEVER use the word "rollover." That will give them the excuse to send you a check less 20% taxes withheld.

The FRTIB is advertising for A CONTRACT OVERSIGHT SPECIALIST, AND A LAWYER.

They are only filling these positions NOW? Wonder why.

    How about that!
They're advertising for a Contract Specialist, not a Contract Oversight Specialist. I was a federal Contract Specialist. That's not someone who oversees contracts already in place. The contract specialist prepares the proposal package, negotiates the contract if applicable, and awards the contract. Only the contracting officer is authorized to sign and administer the contract once it is awarded. I'm thrilled that they're worried enough to hire a contracts attorney-adviser! We should find out who the contract specialist and contracting officer (if any) were who prepared, negotiated and signed this mess, and demand they be fired! What surprises me is that CONGRESS hasn't started an investigation since they're all in this FERS boat with us.

You know better than that! Incompetence is rarely a reason to fire someone in the government. If it was half of the federal government would be on the unemployment line.

so, I have a monthly withdrawal at a set amount that I did two months before their disaster.
first month the correct amount was removed.
Now after their Planned screw up, my monthly withdrawal is done as a % of my balance, which results in less monthly withdrawal each month.
Now isn't that nice for them to keep more of my money.

Has anyone actually been able to add their beneficiary/beneficiaries online? I have none on the website and when I try to add, I just arrive at a dead script that does nothing but show green number one (add beneficiary) in the line of progression...

It's now 25 July, I'm really disappointed in this change, and I'll probably never use anything besides the G, S, and C funds.

How is it acceptable for a financial provider to shift to a platform that doesn't carry over your YTD account history!!!!??? Why didn't TSP warn that we would lose our entire history of documents? The TSP debacle is why I require paper mail on all of my accounts. A bad provider could wipe out your history of records in an instant.

I am just realizing that none of my IFTs made since the shift have gone through. The account summary page doesn't show funds. It says Cash, Bonds, Stocks so I thought my shifts had gone through? Why!!!
The important summary of my account is the fund balances!

The incredibly expensive mutual fund window wasn't worth this debacle.

I know that they sent out my quarterly statement (even though I have paperless selected)... I think that it was a default action (well, then again I'm active duty) for most if not everyone on file. Maybe that information is there if you have or will receive it? Perhaps you can check the statement online? I would check my paper one but I already shredded it (I hate paper copies!)

I went online yesterday and was able to add my spouse as a beneficiary. I had to do this because they "lost" my wife of 50 years when the new improved system went online. I retired in 2008 and at that time they knew I had a spouse. For the past 14 years I have been getting monthly payments and they had my spouse listed in my profile. She was also listed as beneficiary that whole time. But when they turned on the NEW system, she was gone from my record. No spouse. No beneficiary. What fun. She was not amused.

Anyway, like I say, I WAS able to add her back in (online) as my beneficiary. I marked in that form that she is my spouse. However, even though it now shows her as my beneficiary, it still says under my profile that they don't know I'm married.

It has been about 6 months since I made my last IFT. I'm not even sure how you make IFT's on this new system? Is there a telephone number that gives you prompts about what % you want in each fund? I don't have a lot of time or energy to put into this, I'm back to work full time. I'm recovering from COVID and other issues from a motorcycle wreck that put me in a coma for 6 weeks. If anyone can help me with this, I'd be very grateful.
    2 IFT's! That's it, Be cautious & WISE!
