Also, on Page 4 of the booklet it states: After your installments are set up, you can make changes to them at any time by using one of theThriftLine options listed at the beginning of this booklet. all I see is contact information which we all know sucks.
This seems like a make step backwards as once you sent in your notorized documents in the old site you didn't have to call anyone
This whole thing is a con. Millions spent and many promises made about how the new and improved website would make out lives easier, but in reality it is the same or worse.

By the way, as for calling the TSP line and expecting to get results, the last time I called I told them that for some reason my spouse is not listed in my profile despite the fact that under the old system she was listed and even signed the notarized form to initiate installment payments. I informed them that the edit tool did not allow me to enter her name. I was told they would look into it. That was three weeks ago. As of today…

First and foremeost, I am not trying to argue anybody. I am not happy about any of this either. As far as the pamphlet, it is totally vague what you are supposed to do to change your installment plan. They say use the thriftline options at the beginning of the booklet and all you can find are mailing address and phone numbers. This obfuscation is all part of the plan......if not, then why didn't they plainly state how to change your installment plan.
    So I asked Ava
how do i change my installment plan

Starting on June 2022, installment payments are set to the 15th of each month or the preceding business day, if the 15th is on a weekend or holiday.

If you need to stop, change cancel, stop or make changes to your withholding or payment destination, you must call the ThriftLine.

Beside the new website being a screw up, it appears that everyone is getting different information from the folks working the phones. That just makes everything worse. It looks like we can't even trust the printed information. Restore the old software and screw the mutual funds option.
May the force be with us.

    I can.

The answer is- they don't have a CLUE as to what they are doing, nor what their contractor is doing. And they don't know what to do. So they are silent and "hope" that nobody files a lawsuit.

Sounds like positions that most on this thread would be qualified to fill.

These positions would be a great way to step into a hornets nest when everything is all stirred up - no thank you please

If you noticed the Contract Specialist position closes Sept 2, so this is about something else. Perhaps there are more “improvements” planned by the TSP. Hold on to your arse!

Just a question out of the blue: Who benefits when my RMD is taken out on the 15th, but not deposited until the 19th? Who gave permission to recalculate RMD mid year? -- That's two, so here is # 3. What impact is that going to have on penalties come tax time, since they will be distributing less than what was calculated based on 12/31/2021 account balance?

The way it is supposed to work is if, for whatever reason, you don't withdraw all of your RMD by the end of the calendar year, the TSP will automatically make up the difference with an extra "makeup" withdrawal from your account. In other words, they will make sure you meet the RMD for the year.

However, as screwed up as the system is now, I wouldn't count on anything working the way it is supposed to.
