    Default NEW SITE INFORMATION

We probably should make a new thread- or several threads, about using the new site.

    So here goes.

    1. Lots of roll out issues, but also some successes. I’ve found some broken links, and some non-functional pages.
Here is just one- info missing on window fees, and that page just not working right in my iPhone Safari browser.

    2. On the other hand, I WAS able to register with my phone number on file, and that helped speed things. I also was able to update my spouses information, and that helped speed other things as well.

The Link to the window MFW FEE schedule is broken for me. That’s a problem. I’ll wait until it is fixed.

    Default NEW SITE INFORMATION

Oh- and I would advise, if you are planning on making any withdrawals, do NOT hit the “LOCK ACCOUNT button in the first few pages in. WAIT on that!

You will first want to go in and verify all your info, including bank account info, your Souter info, including adding in phone for yourself and email address on your spouse. If you click the LOCK ACCOUNT button early, you will end up having to talk with a human to unlock it. They are all swamped today.

My advice: DO NOT LOCK IT TODAY- wait until at least a week from now.

DO NOT CLICK “Lock your account” “Get Started” to account lock today.

You can do other things first.

    Well, this is interesting.

I tried to walk through an interfund transfer just now.

It would NOT let me execute it. It said that I am only allowed two transfers a month, so I can only go to “G”.

Huh? I haven’t touched anything since two weeks ago, in MAY.

Does that mean they are now counting differently? Two moves EVERY 30 days , instead of two each CALENDAR month?

And this- Can’t move your IFT:

    Interesting.

    Alight- here is another mystery.

The account balance yesterday DID NOT UPDATE OVERNIGHT.

And, according to my calculations, the official TSP site failed to credit me yesterday with about $3,800 in earnings.

I'm going to have to look again tonight when I get home from work, and find the exact dollar amount I am missing. .

Even though there have been FOUR TRADING DAYS since May 26th, there are only TWO TRADING DAYS RESULTS REFLECTED IN MY TSP ACCOUNT BALANCES AS OF 8:57 AM THIS MORNING.

Not a great start to the day, eh? Where is my $3,800, and how do i complete an interfund trasnfer, since your system says,. incorrectly, that I have already done two trades this month?

Same here. My account is only updated through COB June 1.

I've spent two days now trying to set my new account. Lots of clearly identifiable bugs. For example, they ask for your name as presented in your TSP account, or mail, but the system won't accept a first name + middle initial.
The system wouldn't attach my phone number (I had cleared cookies and passwords and restarted) so I'm stuck with snail mail to get the pass code.
It's clear they did not do proper testing. It's clear that the tech people were not sufficiently skilled to update the site.
I REALLY, REALLY hope that the Inspector General looks at this failure and makes some strong recommendations.

I should add I was on phone hold for 4 hours yesterday and 3 hours today.

I just don't respect TSP any longer.

Poll: Have you attempted an IFT under the new website?

    Some issues/bugs/observations:

Looks like they didnt port over account statements with the move. You can only request statements from May 26th through today.

If your witness has the same email address as your beneficiary (we use one), youll get an error on the "Choose Witness" page after you click "continue". If you go back and change the beneficiary email address and revisit the "Choose Witness" page, the "continue" button is now greyed out and you cant move on. Deleting the beneficiary and re-adding it doesnt change this either.

Pop up windows extending beyond the screen size and not populating data.

No breakdown of total number of shares owned on the "Account summary" page. You can find limited (May 26-Jun 2) data on the "Account activity" page. "Account summary" page just shows total balance. You have to navigate a few pages to see this info - Click the arrow on "Savings" tab on the "Home" page, scroll down to "investment details", on the portfolio tab look at the bottom under "units". Would be nice to see this on the "Account summary" page for a quick glance.

I am happy to see the ability to move a $ amount rather than a % amount between funds. I have always wanted to see this change. Great change IMO.

Overall, I think the interface reminds me of the web developers who used to come try to sell us new software in the private sector and their biggest changes were to add more "bubbly" icons, colors and aesthetics but not change any of the underlying fundamentals. I dont think the new site is confusing to navigate after you get the hang of it, I just think there were changes made for the sake of making changes and really werent needed.

If my account times out, the "Log On" link give this error:

    Whitelabel Error Page

This application has no explicit mapping for /error, so you are seeing this as a fallback.
    Fri Jun 03 10:44:11 CDT 2022
There was an unexpected error (type=Not Found, status=404).
    No message available

You have to go back to the main page to log back in.

Not able to log on without using the security questions even though Im supposed to be logging on a 2factor pin from a text. Cant find anywhere to change security setting even after going to the "Security Center" link.

James, my balance was updated COB 2022/06/22.

And, I have a 'Rate of Return' of 0.62% - which would place me in the Top 50 of the AutoTracker. I'll take it. And, if I keep getting these great RoR I would like my gift sent to me promptly, Tom

    I created/updated my account yesterday.

Things I like: Not much, but maybe over time. The Beneficiaries portal is in your face where it should be. I guess for the uneducated the Barney Chart showing 'Cash' (which is not true), Bonds, and Stocks might be of some value. Actually, the 'Change Investments" page/portal is MUCH clearer. I cannot tell you how many people I have had to repeatedly go through the difference between an IFT and their Contribution Allocation. This is much clearer.

Things I don't like: The home screen just shows you a Barney Balance. I liked the quick look at fund allocation the previous interface had. OMG, is there anywhere that you can see your ACTUAL allocation by fund and not the Barney Breakdown. Big flub.

Note: Because I am a jerk I will let others test the IFT interface for me. Thank you for your service
Lookin' up at the 'G Fund'!!!

    LauraKnitLibrary,
Welcome aboard. Sorry it had to be under these circumstances. This is a great place to learn.
May the force be with us.

    Ugh...

WTF is 'Current Mix'? If my C-Fund gained $2K yesterday it is NOT 10% of my allocation - that was my IFT allocation toward C that I made mid-to-late May. It is something else. Are they rounding to the nearest full percent. Ugh. And, that would be better than if they were reallocating daily like the L Funds do.

I found 'Current Mix' - which I am SWAGing is my allocation - using this Rube Goldberg breadcrumb exercise in clicking:
    • 'Home | Account Summary | Click my Balance | Investments | The arrow next to 'Your Investment Strategy' | Investments'
    • and, scroll.

    OMG

If the 'Current Mix' changes I think I am ok with the presentation. However, if it sits there at my most recent IFT than I am not. I don't want to see what my IFT allocation was three months ago. I want to see the current allocation.

    We shall see.
Lookin' up at the 'G Fund'!!!
