As our federal firefighters in the West earn 20-50 cents on the dollar to their state and county counterparts.

I hope, but don't think, you are right.

While this is a slap in the face, it will pale in comparison to the overhaul of our retirement plan he/they are said to be considering.

How many said the same about tariffs before they became a reality?

Well, I guess it's a good thing that I'm already over paid!

Seriously though. I am still glad I voted for him and not the Devil/AKA Hillary.

I knew that this might happen under Trump. Any business person that takes a look at the Government will see it is broken. In my 18 years with the Gov. I have actually seen a $400 hammer!

We over engineer everything. We are already paid more than fairly. I can see where his thinking is coming from. Do I like it? No! But my reasons are purely selfish.

Bottom line is: Government spending is way beyond out of control. Someone has to stand up against it. Trump is the guy. I voted for him, and I knew this was coming.

    It's a double edged sword.

But I will live with it and still support my President! MAGA

Brother I'm good with getting spending under control, but in my 20+ years, I don't see it by nickle and diming the domestic federal workforce. I know I'm a broken record, but we're just shifting the costs to a contract work force. The money goes out to companies who skim approximately 50% off the top, and then outsource the labor. Companies like CGI tout their outsourcing "cred". They farm the jobs out to overseas labor paying them a pittance of what they take in. And their Federal Division is a sham. They still pull in overseas labor for the accounting and IT services. And of course there's no chance these international companies can put in code that may compromise our data, right?

Either way your money is going out.

Heck, I remember after 9-11 DOJ hired this joker to set up plans in case of a chemical attack. They paid him over 150,000. He developed a shelter-in-place plan which was a joke. A co-worker of mine discredited the plan in about an hour with the help of Google. We would have been dead as door knobs if there was an emergency and we had to enact his "plan". Our main security guy had to fess up and told us, yup, the contractor was waay off. Then the guy walks away with the money and a smile.

My soapbox - I want to see my tax dollars spent on American labor and paid to said Americans to do the job for our federal agencies. From what I've seen, these companies put their hooks in and you can't get them out. They tell you it'll take two years. that turns into 5, then 10, then 15, and so on...
