It looks like yet another place that wants you to pay them to tell you how to allocate your TSP.

I see, so it has nothing to do with the TSP Retirement Investment Board that is ran by the Goverment.

    Hello,

I just reviewed the RIP site-no I mean RPI site-Retirement Plus Inc. They say they can help me achieve dynamic results. Everything is done by computer similar to Financial Engines that the FRS offers. They end up following not leading. I need to invest with my brain and my gut. Oh, the FRS is the Florida Retirement System- another defined contribution platform available to state employees. My wife is a member and she pulled down $114,000 in a year and a half without the computer. How did she do it-with the help of the Birchtree of course.

I happen to like my new found family, no one has yet to say-peace be still.

Allow me to quote from there material that is educational based. "Finally it is critical to ubderstand that equities (stocks) offer the best potential for higher, long-term investment returns, than do cash or fixed income (bonds) investments. At the same time it is equally important to understand that stocks are much more volatile in their performance. Investors seeking to maintain long term purchasing power and long term financial security will need to achieve higher rates of return.

Therefore they must increase the proportion of stocks in their portfolio, while at the same time accepting a greater variation of results(including occasional and sometimes steep declines in value). Now I couldn't have said that any better myself especially the last part. I wonder if they would have any extra length rope they could throw me for a modest fee? What I should do is put out a call to the new CoastGuardsman. Saving distressed folks is his job. Just kidding-I like my current pain level.
