Default THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE

To my fellow men and women who have served in uniform any time over the last 100 years-

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.

I served from the 1980's until 2003. Got to be the best position in the Army- a Platoon Leader of American Soldiers- as well as a U.S. Army Company Commander, and various enlisted positions in four different units over my career.

I would have to say Platoon Leader was the absolute most rewarding- I had 65 of the most wonderful Men and Women one could ever serve with. They did communications - and they did a wonderful job keeping the signal flowing.

My father served stateside during the Korean War. He was in a Nike Missile unit.

My Grandfather served in World War I in France-Field Artillery, and actually did the wire communications for Field Artillery. He told amazing stories of his life at age 17 , 18 and 19. Amazing man. and an amazing adventure.

My great, great Grandfather served in the War of 1812, Artillery, and his father served in the American Revolution (Infantry).

I am so proud of the men and women who actually stand up today, and put on the uniform, because THEY LOVE OUR NATION.

Thank you for serving- and know that YOU are the ones making AMERICA GREAT.

Happy Veterans Day. See you at the flagpole on Monday.

Thanks for the thanks and I pass it on to all.

My father served in Europe during WWII as a tank destroyer driver. I had 7 uncles and one aunt who served in WWII. I have copies of my maternal grandfathers draft registration for both WWI and WWII. He never served, he was a dairy farmer. I wonder if when he registered in WWII if he thought enough was enough since he had 4 sons serving.

My most rewarding jobs were as team lead or Operating Location Chief. I may not have thought so at the time but all of those kids that worked for me did put the mission first. They were not all wonderful.

All veterans celebrate this weekend and Monday and honor your contribution to the US military.

    PO

Special thanks to all who served.
Air Force 1970 to 1974, Minuteman Missiles (ICBM's).

It's a testament to training and willingness that 18 year old's have the responsibility to serve, defend and protect.

Be sure to thank those that served during Vietnam because we didn't get the respect that we finally give and recognize for our veterans now.

Remember the families that lost loved ones while giving the ultimate sacrifice for Country.

Remember our veterans that have sacrificed limb and mind while serving and press our Representatives to improve and provide excellent medical care for them as well as all veterans.
