I played a lot of contact sports like football and lacrosse but later in life my mother developed the same thing. My early career was in immunogenetics and immunochemistry and I worked at a hospital and was able to do all kind of tests for arthritis and other immunity and inflammation related condition and I could not identify what it was although that was 40 years ago.
I found a solution in an unusual way. I used to see an orthopedic surgeon who would give me shots of cortisone and xylocaine in my joints. Once he had me go to a cat scan and he prescribed 10 mg of Diazepam which is the generic for the muscle relaxer Valium. He prescribed it so that I would not move during the cat scan. It took me a couple of weeks to realize that I felt great for days after and I went back and told my doctor that I didn't think it was the cat scan that made me feel so good.
You need a prescription and you need to be careful because it is addictive but whenever I begin to feel discomfort I a 5 mg tablet and feel better for days or weeks.
Best wishes.
not enough magnesium in diet or wrong type of supplement form. low levels causes muscle problems along with an imbalance with potassium which the level for an adult was just raised last yr to 4500-4700mg/day from 3700mg/day. we need good full spectrum salt, however too much increases to level of potassium needed. www.mgwater.com all about magnesium
enjoy.
