HI EA... did not see anyone at the TSP poker table??? I went out and see that it says "cancelled". I registered for the next two games. It is sad but it seems like maybe Burro was the glue that kept this TSP Poker table going. I guess we will see how it goes next time... Next game is on Monday, next week Oct 22. Only two people are registered.

If this group is going to continue, we likely need to find out how to add members and do some outreach. Maybe Tom or Judy can let us know about this.

I agree. If there aren't at least 2 people signed up, it automatically cancels at the designated time.

Hi TSP Poker Club members. A long time ago burrodonkeycrat sent me a pm asking me to join. He sent instructions I could probably search for. I explained to him I just didn’t have time currently and made a promise I would join when I retired. That day is coming up soon. (68 days?)

Your schedule seems to be every Monday night which still won’t fit until I quit. If someone has the info on how to join please post it or send me a PM.

I know nothing about this Texas two step game you play. Back in the day I used to play quarter limit poker dealers choice a lot but no one ever called Texas Holdem. 7 card stud was very popular and dealer schtick was expected. “pots right, comin round, pair a threes, paregoric, Perivolaki (you had to be part of the group to understand that), no help, possible straight etc. The deck is right. Bets”.

Not understanding why you throw away two perfectly good cards, talk of streets, rivers and flops that are not flopped I would fully expect to get my butt handed to me regularly.

Hi PO! Welcome! We can show you how to play.... BerryCuda promises to not bite too hard at first! Lol..
Game alternates each week between Sunday and Monday night at 7pm Central time. We play this Sunday at 7pm. Then the following week on Monday at 7Pm. Best to sign in 10 mins early as the software is updated often. Hope to see you on Sunday!!!

Texas no limit Hold Em is kinda like a 5 card stud in that you make your best 5 card hand. You get two dealt to you face down and then there are 5 community shared cards that are dealt up on the table. Two persons ante in (one person has higher ante and is said to be "on the button" and then that rotates around the table.) This helps force action for at least two people to play each hand.

So you get your 2 face down cards, then round of betting, then 3 community cards are "flopped" face up, then round of betting, then 1 community card is shown face up (aka "the Turn"), then another round of betting, then last 1 community card is flipped up (call this "the river") and one last round of betting. If you are still in at this point, the cards are shown and best 5-card hand wins.

Our TSP poker club is played on Pokerstars.net and it is Free!!!

This Sunday 7PM Central time. Let’s see, summer same as sin city, fall back, web says fall back time is either Oct 28th or Nov 4th (Oct is still summer?) I think that might be 5PM here in valley of the brown sky. Or if the Oct 28th date is right 6PM. Thanks for the info.

Oh yeah…reminds me of the time a coworker from IA showed me how to play Euchre. Just like double deck pinochle he said. Even has a ch in the name. Right and left bower depended on if you were in DesMoines and how close to the river (never said what river) or different if you were in Bettendorf or Davenport or a special Bower zone referred to as bozo. Maybe that was me he was referring to.

Thought of another table talk gem: I aint seen a royal flush since the last time I took a p*ss” Reference to Sloan flushometer.
