Thread: TSP Poker Club

Easily the most important piece of this entire, multi-page discussion. Regardless of status quo, THIS is the season that we need to 'try' things and flush out what works from what doesn't. We call it season 1, but its more of a preseason. We've been doing this for a few months now, but we are still relatively new and agile. We won't have the opportunities to tweak things very often once the next season starts.

the main problem with that is, it would be somebody else's brand (tsptalk) that gets associated with the marketing, and i completely recognize the hesitancy to hand the reigns of the wagon to the donkey, there are probably better drivers for that too. i am just a second string salesman, like willy lowman. only not as depressed.

and my friends call me 'burro'. i hate capital letters like an ocd hates labels on their cans of green beans in the cupboard stacked crooked.

Assuming Tom wants to be president, I'll third. I seem to be good at that...

Correct, once a recurring tourney is initially created, it'll auto-create new tourneys.

That solves that particular concern I had. And a recent post resolves my heartburn about the idea of having to create yet another club. good deal, everyone. some of the disarray and associated heat and pressure is dissolving, and some forward motion is in sight.

thanks for refreshing my memory on the pride vs prizes for this original season. KO made great comment, this is our opportunity to do some additional tweaking before we move on to having additional enjoyable time actually playing for pride AND prizes in the next season.

It's ok that we circle back once or twice and look at prior decisions to see if they still help us meet the objectives of having fun, and for Tom, a value-add in terms of promoting his website and business venture here-not the original intent (which was strictly for fun), but definitely a beneficial development for him and for the other players with skills at the table both. I know public (local/state/fed)-private sector collaborative groups with wide range of personal and professional interests and reasons for participation in their common activity, who found common ground and purpose, high-functioning, have lasted for over 20 years, achieving great tangible results. they had very clear operating rules for their decision-making and group function and process and participation. I'm sure they went through some disarray at times in the early years too.

Oh, and my training on the subject of high-performing teams educated me that even long-standing groups go through the same 4-stages of team functionality and degrees and styles of managerial interaction whenever they take on a whole new project. We'll be ok.

A full transition requires starting a new club. Also, I don't think Manager rights can be transferred.

The history only includes the current three month season. K0n has more history.

We aren't re-inventing the wheel, we are putting it on a different vehicle.

I've addressed above that nothing is lost, but to be clear, my departure has nothing to do with a story. See my prior post explaining what I didn't like.

History can't be changed. And, no, you can't erase history. I've never stated I wanted to forget something.

Well darn, we still have to create another new club. I'll get over my heartburn, take some Peptobismol or something. 3d time's the charm, right?
