Did you know that there was going to be a 33 cents -FV today? It's a rhetorical question because....nobody knows.....It just a guess that we make before our 1100 central deadline. Most here, including our best, thought the market was going to rally and eventually causing a +FV. We guessed wrong. That's the way it goes.

If I had known it was going to be a -FV of 33 cents, I would have gone to I fund. But since I don't have a crystal ball, I play the probability game...

I would of bet the farm on a strong come back. Got hit hard as well. In a year we will not remember this! Booyah!

right now the Tsplookup is showing -.49 FV. Does that mean that we are starting .49 cents in the hole for Friday and need to climb out? Just want to make sure I'm reading the Tsplookup correctly....

Sorry I did not understand your question when I answered it. I see that you are asking if we are in the hole before any numbers are figured. I don't know. I deleted my first response.

No, -.15 is payback from yesterday's FVC(Fair Value Correction) and -.33 was todays -FV.
So the I Fund will pay back .33 tomorrow. I'm not sure where the extra penny is coming from, we are showing a total FV of -.48.

7:57 estimate: -32 cents from market change PLUS -FVC of +33 cents PLUS +7 cents from dollar change EQUALS +8 cents.

How far into the day before the street figures out that these number kill any chance of further rate cuts this year? Will it sell off when it does? I suspect: open big, then take a dive.

It depends on the Fed's focus. If some really bad news about banks and the subprime crisis keep coming, we could get another decrease. I think another decrease this year is unlikely, but we never know with these people.

I sure hope the poor earnings report by Chevron this morning doesn't affect the market as much as Exon's did yesterday!
