Yeah, this all a bunch a BS. I've been preaching the evils of HFCS for awhile now. I'll stick to Xylitol if I need a sweetener and coconut crystals if I need some "brown sugar" for baking and such. There's also a low glycemic and organic coconut nectar which I like on my waffles.............mmmmmmm.

    +1.

HFCS makes muscle aches worse and is especially bad for folks with arthritis.

I stick with stevia when I can. Next choice is blue agave sweetener (tequila is so nasty that I'm glad blue agave is good for something ). If neither of those will work then I use just a bit of brown sugar (the real stuff, not the white sugar dyed brown with molasses).

I'm an avid label reader and I make sure to avoid HFCS. For me, it has become its own punishment.

I tend to use stevia for certain things, it doesn't go well with all foods I've tried it with. I stumbled over stevia plants at a high-end nursery this summer for first time-I'd never been to that nursery before. I bought 2, they've been growing in my garden all summer, I've been cutting and drying leaves for later grinding. I'll have stevia available for use for years-a little goes a long ways.

Yes, I agree. It has a slight licorice aftertaste. But there is a new brand on the market called Truvia and there is little to no aftertaste with it. Still doesn't work for baking though.
