Thread: The Economy Is So Bad…How Bad Is It?

Not so funny. Another consumer company may be going belly up-or maybe just contracting for survival. Spotted Hallmark-anchor store for a local strip mall-liquidating today-a block I don't travel that frequently, especially with railroad renovation still going on a block from there. Whole store on sale, basically. Just starting. Bringing forward Christmas ornaments a few at a time on weekly basis for next several weeks. Demand pulled forward=no demand later. OTH, saw a long loaded train today-containers only. Haven't seen that many lately. Headed west. to the ports? I dunno.

I live a mile from the tracks down my canyon....More trains bringing autos west, rather than east.

I think the "unsellable" are moving to the high-populous areas for quick sales.

Also, I see a few "empties" with those as well.

I'll call my contact at UP and see what he's been up to.
