if its encrypted, I don't see the need to change it. my PP account has different PW.

Encryption can be successfully cracked with enough time and computing power. The longer, more random, more varied your password is, the less likely it'll be cracked; should someone or some organization decide to invest time and computer resources.
Another concern is using the same or similar password for other accounts; cracking one account gives them a head start on the others.
Example of a good password: l!sH0p@3bay#to0
Easy to remember (derivative of "I shop at ebay too"). Symbols--in the order they appear on the keyboard...or mix them up in a way you'll remember. At least two: CAPS, #'s, and symbols, several characters long. Or use a reputable password manager--that's what I do.
