Default Best States for Taxes in Retirement

Hello Fellow TSP'rs, Considering moving to North Carolina mountains for our future retirement home. Anyone retired in North Carolina? Is North Carolina a good state for retiree taxes? How do they compare to Alabama, Georgia, or Florida for example? Currently living in Alabama and I haven't paid any state income taxes since I retired. Property and ad valorem taxes are very low as well.
    Thanks everyone!
