    Default mlk_man's Roth Account Moves

A couple of people have asked me to post the moves I make in my Roth and regular investment accounts outside of TSP. I will be using two funds. UOPIX strives to make 200% of what the Nasdaq100 makes and USPIX strives to make 200% of the inverse of the Nasdaq100. I am currently 100% into UOPIX (when I make a transfer between the funds, it will always be 100%).

I bought UOPIX on 6-27-07 at a price of $29.96. Currently it is $29.91.

Disclaimer: This is solely for educational purposes to show what might be possible outside of our regular TSP retirement accounts.

Still in UOPIX. Current price is $31.41. That's up 4.83% since 6-27-07.

Got a sell signal so I'll be transferring to USPIX. Of course this happened after our cut-off time for TSP (again). I'd normally post this earlier but got busy at work.

Hopefully tomorrow will be flat so I won't get burned in my TSP account.

Sold UOPIX yesterday at $32.62 Bought it at $29.96 for a 8.87% gain.

    Bought USPIX yesterday at $10.60

Theoretical balance beginning with $10000 is currently $10887

I am not including transaction fees on this, however I am rounding down all my returns.

WOW, hell of a post. I think maybe you should of posted this in its own thread?

I'm actually short for Monday just like I was on Friday. Lost over 1% on Friday. You see different?

Why did you post this here anyway?

Got a buy signal but I'm not liking the way the NASDAQ is behaving so I'm going to transfer into a fund that tracks the Russell2000. I'm exchanging my USPIX for UAPSX today.

Sold USPIX at $10.45 for a loss of 1.42%. If I had played the R2K, I would of made 1.24% which is why I decided to exit the Nasdaq100 and transfer to the funds which track the R2K.

    Bought UAPSX for $33.38.

    Current return since 6-27-07: 7.32% Balance: $10732

I have to run but it looks like my sell signal is going to hold so I'll be transferring to the short fund(UCPSX).

Sold UAPSX at $32.53 for a loss of 2.55%.

    Bought UCPSX at $12.11

Finally did my homework and have decided to stick with the Nasdaq on future trades. Little less volatile and the gains this year have been comparable to the R2K.

    Current return since 6-27-07: 4.58% Balance: $10458

Got a buy signal, albeit not a strong one, so I'll be transferring into the long fund (UOPIX).

Sold UCPSX yesterday at $13.45 for a gain of 11.06%.

    Bought UOPIX at $31.44.

I failed to mention earlier what my goal is as far as returns. My original goal was to average 10% a month. However, after looking back at the returns this year, I feel I can safely say my new goal is to average a gain of 12% a month.

    Current return since 06-27-07: 16.14 %

    Current balance: $11614

Well I jumped the gun on that buy signal a couple days early but I'm now getting a full blown BUY so I'm sticking with a long position. I'll know how to play the divergency in my system next time.
