So Jacob applied for and just received his Social Security card in the mail and his birth certificate that his grandfather ordered with a little technological help from yours truly. With the birth certificate and Social Security in hand, Jacob opened his first checking and savings account yesterday. The grandfather had to sign because he is a minor, but Jacob handled everything else. He carried himself better than some adults I have seen and I am so proud of him. In the weeks to follow, I will show him how to set up a budget and billpay. He also applied for Social Security benefits so hopefully he starts receiving that money soon.

I want to thank everyone that contributed to the Go Fund Me drive. You have no idea how helpful that was. Your contribution helps pay for two months worth of rent and utilities. Matt's coworkers have went by their house twice to bring food and some cash as well. They are good to go for now.

They are overwhelmed by everyone's generosity and they asked me to express their gratitude and appreciation. So thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Judy, Thank you for the update. Its still so hard to believe Matt passed away. I hope things go as smoothly as possible under the very difficult circumstances. May God continue to strengthen and comfort you, Jacob and grandpa. Take care.

Hey guys, just a quick note before I head to bed. This past Monday I filed for temporary guardianship of Jacob and today I was appointed his legal guardian. I will be making another trip to ND end of next week to pick him up and bring him home. The road ahead will not be easy but with faith, we will overcome any challenge that comes our way.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. God bless.

    Judy

Wow. Just seeing this today, as I've been out of touch for a while now. I'm overwhelmed with sadness of the news yet filled with joy from how this community has come to support his family and knowing how much pleasure this place brought to his life, especially jp. His dedication, wit, and humor will surely be missed. I looked forward to our poker games on sun/mon nights, as I know he did. Not only for the gameplay, but the conversation was just as fun; you never knew what life story he was going to bring up. He was the only person that never missed a game.

It's been three (3) years since Burro passed away.
I miss his sarcastic, but funny comments.
He added spice to conversations and if you have thin skin, you will be upset.
And this happened to me once or twice, but after you banter with him, you realize he was a softie.
He had such a way with words, a very insightful person.
I can't imagine how he would spin stories about COVID 19 if he's still with us.
    Miss you, Burro.
