OMGosh, not even sure where to start. Burro was a fantastic distraction to the markets, funny (in a crazy way) and all around great poster... Such a great loss to this board.

    Prayers to his family !!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of meeting him earlier this year in North Dakota. He was kind and attentive to me and my daughter and an incredibly loving father to his son. I can still hear my daughter calling out “Hey Flooorrrr Matttt” to which he replied “Yes Miss Olivia”.

I could not have met a better man and although our time was short, I am forever grateful that we had the opportunity to meet. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.

Burrocrat was one of a kind. Few could match his wit when he was on a roll. And that was more often than not. He was one man I would truly would like to have met.
You will be missed immensely Burro. We will keep him and his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I accused him of being Dennis Miller incognito.

Wait...WHAT?!! WOW! This is a shock. I’m so saddened to hear this news. Although we had our minor sparring events at times, he was always a good sport. B was definitely a witty, clever and smart PIA and he brought many laughs to the forum. He will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. RIP Matt

It is with a heavy heart to learn of the passing of our one and only burrocrat. I will miss his humor and his unique perspective on the markets. He was truly one of a kind and a good friend.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his many friends and family.

    Rest in peace burro!

I am so very shocked and sad to hear that Burro passed away. He was a really great person... so quick witted and funny! Just so hard to believe he will no longer grace us with his crazy banter and unique views. I will also miss playing poker with him. I often teased him and the last time I played, he beat me mercilessly … I was so looking forward to the next time … I guess that will need to wait until we all go to heaven. Our TSP Poker games will never be the same... he never missed a game and he was a really good player. He was a good friend and I will miss him. This is very sad indeed.

Prayers for all of his family and friends...and may God rest his soul. RIP Burro (Matt Shell).

P.S. JPC... Thank you so much for letting us know and also for the picture. He was so young. Glad you got to meet him.

I am in shock. RIP Burrocrat. He and I had an occasional exchange of emails about jobs and stuff.

Does anyone have any details? I feel the need for closure.
