so it is mob rule, 500 ounces and one vote per ounce. rectangle or round? divisible in quarters or no? heads and tails or generic stamp on the reverse?

and then we get into the specific art work and text.

taking all suggestions, vote early and vote often. come one, come all.

i like the divisible into quarters round, but probably for different reasons than most.

when it comes time to get out of dodge and pay the troll under the bridge for eggs and milk, then i'm only going to charge 1/2 ounce. because as soon as you dig one out and start ciphering which half to break off, then i know you got silver and i'm just gonna shoot you in the head and relieve you of all your coins.

so $500 bucks or a whole sleeve don't matter, you either got it or you don't, and if you do then you got to figure out how to either hang onto it or git some.

that's why i like silver. it's real. viscereal. but at least you know what you're dealing with.

i hope i didn't just unsell some folks.

If we do the kind that split into quarter pieces AND I make some profit in my "play" trade account, then I am in for a sleeve (25 right?).

When do you think we will need to cough up the dough... my trades haven't been so good in Feb, maybe Mar will be better for TVIX and DGAZ...

round count update: 225/500, plus some additional interest but noncommital just yet. now we're starting to get somewhere. chugga chugga choo choooo! all aboard the silver train!

sensei: 5 or 6, he's warming up to the idea, i'm counting it as 5 for ease of math
bmnevue: 5, maybe more if he can massage his wife's feet real good
rmi: 25, but only if scored on reverse for breaking into 1/4's
zzzgator: 0, but starting to sniff around the silver bush, let's give him a warm welcome

so with the previous pledges that makes 225.

    tsptalk: 50
    burro: 25
    james: 25, maybe more
sensei: scratch, see new pledge above
    rlundy: 25
danny: 20, and he's right there are chartist's on this sight that can help time the purchase for max return
    bronco07: 25
swavet: 20, maybe more if he can hawk his stamp collection
birchtree: 0, because he's mad at his brother for stealing his lunch money, but maybe

hey tom, once we get over the 250 round halfway mark do you have an image of the logo i could start with in .jpg .bmp or .tiff format? and what fonts do you use for the 'friends don't let friends buy and hold' and 'tsptalk.com' text?

i'll work up some prototypes and put them out for review here before we send to the mint for them to rework into something that can be stamped onto silver and give us a quote on die creation fees.

I am in favor of the 1/4 ounce divided back side. How about letter in each division representing the 4 funds we use to output perform to G fund. F, C, S & I.

    Just a thought.

    Put me down for 25.

I already have a silver collection, this would be a nice addition. I have a 100 oz ingot, a few 'rounds', a pre-1965 cache of silver coins, and a nice collection of Morgan Silver Dollars (some circulated, some uncirculated, some rated MS64).

Sounds like fun. I am OK with a generic reverse if it saves some $$. I do prefer 'rounds'. Any type of TSPtalk design on the obverse would be fine with me.

Thanks for starting this up, burro! What is the latest count?

Wow I butchered that, huh. I meant to say "outperform the G fund."

round count is now 256/500, and we're past the halfway point.

which is way better than passed the halfway house, i can't remember the last time i did that. i know there is some folks on here that really don't like me, but they probably would like some tsptalk silver... so c'mon in the water's fine, i won't bite. truce, this is bidness, no personal crap here, that's what account talk threads are for.

ok, i'll get to work on the graphics part.

does anybody want to volunteer to be the spreadsheet wizard? we could use something more formal to track usernames and ounces reserved. also add a more columns to later track cost of custom tsptalk dies per ounce and premium over spot and spot price and maybe a misc column to account for shipping for when tom starts to divvy it up.
