Figured i would put this out there. Hope I got them all listed correctly.
Fair enough,
I figured that was the case and why I suggested allowing best 4 of 7 instead of best 4 of 5. Make it so that it is almost impossible for someone to miss the cutt.
Implementing that suggestion would create multiple people potentially pickinig the same some ten pga golfers, there would be a requirement for numerous tie breaker meathods or a limit to how many times the same golfer could be picked. (like in fantasy golf).
The options and possibilities of how to accomplish having a pool are pretty much limitless. You are doing a good job of stating the rules and going with it. I think that is great. But If the primary goal is to have people, (yourself included) wathching golf over the weekend, we could just make our picks on Friday after the cut and everyone would be in the pool. You could also send out a mug to everyone who participates no matter what the rules are or how good their picks were..................
FWM might even get in the pool.

The PGA Championship starts Thursday, 8/08/13...
CORRECTION:Trying some New Rules:
Pick 5 golfers... Lowest 4 player total score wins (relative to par).
If you have players that miss the cut, multiple their 2 day score by 2 to get their total.
Example: A player misses the cut after Round 2 at +12... Their total score is +24.
Looks like there's been a takeover on the "cut" rule. We'll go back to the old rules for that, which I guess means we'll use the position and not score since the old rule says:
"missed cut equals 10 more points than last place finish after cut."
Sorry for the confusion.

You are preaching to the choir with me. I am not advocating for a "no pool participant left behind" policy or PGA golf tournaments where everyone makes the cut and gets a trophy...............
If Tom wants us all to make the cut and send us all a mug, that is up to him.
No, it was my fault for hijacking the pool.

OK with me. But how will the cut players' score work now? (the old was +10 in position)
Thanks

OK, so here are the final rules for the PGA Championship:
Pick 5 golfers.
Lowest 4 player total score wins (relative to par).
If you have players that miss the cut, their final score will be 10 strokes higher than the last place player who made the cut.
Sorry for the confusion.
