I'm trying to figure out which ETF best tracks the S fund. The only one I found that is a Wilshire 4500 is VXF (Vanguard Extended Market Index). I was hoping Barclay's had one but didn't find one I like. Anybody have a better suggestion?

I use DWCP ...it's the DOW/Wilshire 4500 which is exactly what the S Fund is.

    Go here: http://www.wilshire.com/Indexes/Broad/Wilshire4500/ for details.

Isn't that the Index? What ETF best matches that index?

I agree that DWCP is the best index match. So far, I haven't found a better ETF match than VXF.

Now if I can just figure out an overlay graph of the S fund on the VXF to see how they compare........

    Actually,

I've been tracking Vanguard Extended Market for a while to mimmic the S fund, It's symbol is actually VEXMX. It is very close to the Wilshire 4500. The problem I have found with using the actual Wilshire 4500 Index is that many sites don't allow to overlay chart indicators like Parabolic SAR, volume, momentum, DMI etc. with the Index (like Yahoo) but if you use VEXMX you can. This is what I do. CBS Marketwatch is a good, free place to start with charting on VEXMX. Just a suggestion.

Excellent suggestion. I'll make a comparison and probably switch. What's a good free charting program? Remember the motto of a government employee, cheap is good but free is best.......

    Gotta love this URL: www.stock-anal.com

BestCharts software, free. I mess with it a little. One of these days I will RTFM.
