I know several others that took 4-5 months. Depends on your "specialist", mine was slow!! Hopefully yours will be quick!!

I retired 12/31/2012 and was finalized this week, the SSS was in my backpay as an earlier post alluded to. OPM sends a booklet with all the information you need to ensure you received the SSS.
