Must be a good time to buy Citi. If you can hold it for two years you should do well.

    Re: ebbnflow's Account Talk

I was agreeing with you on your premise that a year or two of backtesting is not sufficient. What I was trying to say is it is easy to come up with a system that works over the past year, or more. ...

    Re: ebbnflow's Account Talk

That's true. It's easy to come up with a system that worked for a year or two. How about buying at Friday's close and selling at Monday's close. You would have made out like a bandit in 2007 but...

Or perhaps he did .50% precisely because of Greenspan going on 60 Minutes prior to the biggest day of Bernanke's career.

One day a Pirate and a bartender were talking to each other in a bar. The Bartender asked the pirate “Where did ya get that peg leg from?”
The Pirate responded “We were sailing the seas when a big...

    Re: ebbnflow's Account Talk

When on vacation you might consider being in the stock funds October - May, and in the bond funds June - September. This are the historically strong months.

The F-fund was up 11 percent in 2000. So the ebbchart should have done pretty good on the safehaven days.

    Re: 350Z's I Fund Thread - Sept. 07

Sell in May and go away is a good strategy. Stocks tend to go down in the Summer months due to summer vacations. I wouldn't put much faith in the 7th year of decade strategy. I can see no logical...
