Re: Android app for TSP account queries

I'm guessing this App is what triggered this warning?
  2. Re: Play for the bounce... if only we had unlimited trades again

We knew a sell off was coming today. Traders don't want to be holding over this long weekend. Too much risk of stuff happening somewhere in the world. Add to that the fact that politicians like to...

    re: Intrepid_Timer's PUBLIC Account Talk

Wow. I'm working too hard. I never realized that you had your own Premium Service on TSPTALK! no less. I guess I don't read this message board nearly enough. Damn, that is too funny. Boy how things...
  4. Re: Play for the bounce... if only we had unlimited trades again

Yep. No sense crying over spilt milk though.
  5. Re: Play for the bounce... if only we had unlimited trades again

I quit posting my moves for several reasons: 1. I travel and do not always have the luxury of being able to post my moves to the tracker. I missed posting a bunch of moves to the tracker which causes...
  6. Re: Play for the bounce... if only we had unlimited trades again

I'll probably decide on Wednesday morning. I have to admit that I'm leaning toward the sidelines. There are too many things that could rattle the markets right now and cause a selloff - Euro...
  7. Re: Play for the bounce... if only we had unlimited trades again

I hate how this two trade thing has to play inot my thinking. I jumped in and we have had a nice bounce. I am looking for an exit. I would like to ride to Thursday or Friday but if I bail to G by...
  8. Play for the bounce... if only we had unlimited trades again

Looking at the markets being down ~4.5%, my first thought is to buy today and sell tomorrow - thus plaaying for the bounce. This straegy usually works well, especially on big move days like today....

I suggest putting the money into a 529 plan. See Clark Howard's advise at the link above.

Re: Sold 1/2 my gold today

If you sold half, then you are half right. :) Whether gold goes up or down, you will be half right.

    Re: Congressional Medal of Honor

Buster, are you trying to degrade service in the National Guard? That's what it reads like to me. What about other "weekend warriors"? You trying to degrade their service as well? I was in the Navy...

    Re: Gold, Silver, etc...

Exactly. That is why I sold. Heck, I may even did my big class ring out of the safe and sell it too. People are jumping on a band wagon but the wagon is at the top of a hill and about to go down....

    Re: Gold, Silver, etc...

Re: Crash of 2011 happening now?

One mistake I made in 2008, was to get back in too early. I think I'll watch for a little while longer before getting back in stocks. Downside risk seems a little high right now.

Re: Fed Unions ask- what's the plan?

I don't thinkanything happens till the new super committee does its thing. I'll be watching who goes on that committee very carefully. Federal employees will see some impact, time will tell in what...

Re: What do you think, F fund's future?

I'm in F right now and don't expect any big run-up. I'll be satisfied if it just continues to beat G for a while longer. F-fund is overdue. I'll watch stocks for a good point to get back in. I take...

Re: Big Solar Flare - Market Reaction?

The theory is that solar flare activity agitates folks. People who have interupted internet/phone/TV get cranky. Cranky-agitated folks are more pessimistic folks. Therefore, as the theory goes, solar...

Re: Actual FERS Soc Sec Supplement

  19. Re: Contact your Senator and Congressman - Federal employee pay and benefits

What the heck? What on earth have you been smoking? I've definitely got opinions on this too, but this forum ain't the place.
  20. Re: Contact your Senator and Congressman - Federal employee pay and benefits

Don't get me wrong, I am in favor of addressing the deficit. I think that everyone deserves to do their fair share. That being said, if you look at what is going on, federal employees have been...
  21. Contact your Senator and Congressman - Federal employee pay and benefits

If you have not contacted your Senator or Congressman about the plan to reduce the federal deficit that hits federal employees pretty hard, then there is not time like the present.

    Senator's...

Re: tsp loans to have an alternative moves

The time lag going into and out of a loan is too big for this to be effective. It takes weeks for them to process a request for a loan. It takes a while for them to process a check to pay off a loan...
  23. Re: Debate swirls over whether TSP is living within its means

I haven't followed the Board meeting minutes in a while, but I believe the increased cost has to do with the website upgrade and the publicity campaign they waged. They had to tell everyone about...

Re: I'm considering getting a droid. Any tips?

I have a Samsung Intercept and like it just fine. It's a slider. I'm a fairly low data usage type. I prefer to do most of my data work on a computer. I do stream some music and occasionally check out...

Re: Seriously though unlimited to two IFT's?

That's what really jerks a knot in my cord. The main reason that Greg Long and Tracy Ray used to convince the FRTIB to make the change to limit the number of trades allowed was to reduce cost for...
