SSCE is a nice way society in general thinks of some. Will remember that when trying to be accurate with checking the defibrillator will work, during hospital inspections. Lol.

I hope you didn’t take any offense from that acronym. We all have to keep a sense of humor about some of society’s stereotypes. Most of us Feds do have important jobs that keep the wheels turning in machines the public has no idea the federal government owns.
Keeping humor in mind, do you also inspect the endoscopes?
Now back to Frixxxx’s Deferred Retiement.

    Congrats for your new job!

according to this website below, it seem one must leave his/her money in the TSP when doing the deferred FERS. So later on, he could apply for FERS pension.

FERS Deferred Retirement vs. Postponed FERS Retirement

    Basics of FERS Deferred Retirement

To do a FERS Deferred Retirement... you must..

    • Have at least 5 years of creditable civilian service before you separate
    • AND you must leave your contributions in the FERS system

Basically - you leave federal service now. You leave your contributions in the system. Later, when you reach a specific age (usually 62) you can start your pension.
With a Deferred Retirement, there is no minimum age to reach before you leave service - but you must wait until a specific age to start your pension.

I think it only refers to FERS contribution, not TSP.

    Yep, TSP has to remain...

My eligibility for annuity starts at 60, based on calculations when I leave, (high 3 years*years served)!

    Basically, I'm frozen....

Thursday was my last day at the office, but I resigned through the pay period.

    Triple Chocolate Kahlua bundt cake.
