Thread: Are the days Calcs for TSP-IFTs correct...?

Default Are the days Calcs for TSP-IFTs correct...?

    Hello,
I am wondering if the calcs for the/a day's TSP percentage allocations are being performed correctly (on the correct day) when considering an IFT indeed occurred before noon EST on that day? I think there may be a glitch for today, maybe a reoccurring glitch?

The reason I ask is that my TSP and TSP-Track IFTs occurred prior to noon today, however, instead of the percentages being applied to the days earnings/losses tomorrow, and they were applied today. This is incorrect and I am a bit confused.

You see, my TSP IFT will take affect tonight for calcs based on tomorrow’s earnings/losses but, the TSP-Track system does not seem to do this, it took effect for calcs upon today's market numbers. Shouldn't there be the same delay until tomorrow mirroring the TSP IFT process?
I actually lost -.51% today but, the TSP-Track system shows the incorrect amount of -.25%. I wanted to let you know just in case this is not an atypical occurrence; you may need to let your coder know...?
    Thx.
    EWB!

I use an excel spreadsheet using xirr and believe me the tracker calculations are right.

    Thx Eccougar.

I realized this as well. I misunderstood that if you make a TSP-IFT and TSPTrack before noon EST that the calcs are based on the new move and the earnings for that day. I kept thinking that you had to wait until close the next business day, which is correct if I miss the noon EST time, ey?

Appreciate the effort and your post.

If you are in the G fund on Monday and make an IFT Monday morning (before noon ET) to 100% S, your Monday close of business balance is determined by the performance of the G fund.

Tuesday's balance will be effected by the S-fund's performance.
