Hi,
I have some questions about the catch-up contributions that I just can't clear up in my head. I'm an Air National Guard Technican who has just turned 50. I contibute to both my civilian and military TSP accounts and I want to take advantage of some catch-up contributions. I plan on contributing almost $17k on the civilian side and around $3k on the military side.
-Do I need to submit catch-up contibution paperwork for both military and civilian accounts since some of each will be contributing to the amount over the $16,500 limit?
-I'm not sure of the amount that will be going to the catch-up contribution because my military contribution varies with the amount of military time that I do. How would I choose an amount when I really won't have a feel for the amount until much later in the year?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Dave
