Thread: Contrarian Headlines?

  1. #1

    Default Contrarian Headlines?

We have heard of the Time, Newsweek, Barron's etc., Front Cover contrarian headlines, but is the Drudge Report also a contrarian play?

    Today's Headline:

'WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF A GREAT, GREAT DEPRESSION'

I like TSPTalk and I think most people here are well-intentioned but if I followed their advice, I'd be hunkered down in my basement with a thousand cans of tuna fish.

    Today's headline on CBSMarketwatch:

    "Dow 20,000, here we come."

Does this offset the great depression guy?

    This week's Barron's... Jinx?

They're not always wrong, but their big headlines don't have the best record historically...

It appears that his crystal ball was broken. I wonder what he had to say 3 weeks later.
