It appears that it's another Nutcase walking the streets, buying guns and shooting people. Haven't we learned anything?

I'm currently stationed at Ft Hood and was at work when it happened. Our initial thought when the active shoot alarm went off, it was just a drill. That perception quickly went away.
We were locked down and ordered to shelter in place and was released at 8:45pm (CDT).

Prayers for all who were killed and injured.

Fort Hood gunman had 'leave dispute' before shooting

The New York Times, quoting an unnamed official, said Spc Lopez was agitated and disrespectful when his request for leave was denied.

He had reportedly sought time off to deal with family matters relating to the recent death of his mother.

An Army spokesman declined to comment on the nature of the argument but confirmed that the soldier had become angry with other members of his unit before the attack.

He killed 3 and wounded 16 because of a depute over getting leave to go to his Mom's Funeral, why the random murders and attempted murders if that's all it was about? Does NOT compute!!!!!Does NOT compute!!!!! anxiety.gif

I agree and having been the person denied and the person denying leave, I cannot imagine that there is something else to this story...

James, guns do not kill people. If he was bent on killing someone, he is trained in combat with his hands or a knife too... the method is not the issue, but more importantly WHY he did it.

Please, please, please do not turn this tragedy into a bully pulpit for your anti-gun stance...
