Really interesting Jim Cramer Tweets this afternoon. He is watching VIX products going down followed by Margin calls which bring the market up. He says the next one at 2:45 could be big.

TSP Talk: Rally pauses

by tsptalk on Today at 01:11 AM
Stocks chopped around on Tuesday digesting the recent large gains over the last few days as the some of the charts deal with some overhead resistance. The Dow lost 131-points, well of the morning highs, and off the late morning lows. There is some mending that can be done to those charts to fill open gaps and test moving averages. All in all, it wasn't a good day, but not a terrible day either, and a little back and forth wouldn't be a bad thing as the indices try to build a base off the recent

TSP Talk: Follow-through

by tsptalk on Yesterday at 01:11 AM
Stocks followed through yesterday on last week's positive reversal. The Dow gained 410-points and the S&P 500 has now added 105-points in the last two trading days. The action kind of smells like a bottom for this pullback, but there is a little more work to be done to get past resistance. And once we get past the first few days of October, the election year seasonality picture gets more murky.

TSP Talk: Can bulls break 4-week losing streak?

by tsptalk on 09-27-2020 at 06:39 PM
Stocks rallied back strongly on Friday to help alleviate what had been developing as another miserable week for stocks. The big gains (Dow +359) also helped repair some technical damage that had been done to the charts and created a positive reversal formation on the weekly chart. That's the good news. The bad news is, there are still some potential downside targets that may need to get hit before this correction is over.

TSP Talk: Choppy day below resistance

by tsptalk on 09-25-2020 at 01:12 AM
Stocks posted modest gains yesterday in the big three indices as the Dow gained 52-points on a very choppy trading day on Wall Street. We saw some overhead resistance hold, but there was a clear bid for some stocks as we traded near those lows of the day. The Russell 2000 (small caps) was flat on the day but the broader Dow Completion Index (our S-fund) was down on the day.

TSP Talk: 50-day EMA holds as resistance

by tsptalk on 09-24-2020 at 01:11 AM
Volatility is back and September's reputation remains intact as the bears took control again after a day and a half of rebounding. The Dow lost 525-points, or 1.9% while the Nasdaq and small caps lagged with losses near 3%. After a positive open, the S&P 500 hit the 50-day EMA and reversed back down, and that may be a troublesome development with yesterday being the 4th straight day that the index closed below the 50-day EMA.
