Really interesting Jim Cramer Tweets this afternoon. He is watching VIX products going down followed by Margin calls which bring the market up. He says the next one at 2:45 could be big.

TSP Talk: Stocks mixed but power through inflationary data

by tsptalk on Yesterday at 01:11 AM
Stocks were mixed again after the CPI report was released, although the big three indices all closed with gains. The CPI report came in a little above estimates and the futures slipped in pre-hours trading initially but bounced back quickly. There was some selling after opening gains, but once again the dip buyers jumped in. It wasn't all bullish as the small caps (Russell 2000) and the Transports did not have good days, although the S-fund did close with a small

TSP Talk: Small caps and meme stocks take a breather

by tsptalk on 06-10-2021 at 01:11 AM
Stocks were down on Wednesday but it was another yawner as there wasn't much action. The Dow lost 153-points and the small caps finally had a bad day, but perhaps the key moves yesterday were in bond yields continuing to slide, the dollar rallying, and the Transports selling off more than 1%. The latter was mainly because of UPS falling but the Transports are often considered the heartbeat of the economy. OK, I made that up, but they are a good indicators for economic

TSP Talk: Small caps continue to steal the show

by tsptalk on 06-09-2021 at 01:11 AM
Stocks were mostly higher on Tuesday although the Dow lagged and slipped 30-points. Other than that we saw slight to strong gains in most indices with the small caps leading the way on the upside again. The S&P 500 is a whisper away from a new high so we're either on a double top alert, or of course we could see a breakout. Bonds and the dollar were up, and oil closed above 70 for the first time since 2018.

TSP Talk: Large caps lag, small caps surge... Global minimum tax?

by tsptalk on 06-07-2021 at 06:11 PM
Stocks were mixed on Monday but most indices did close well of their lows as the dip buyers stayed close at hand. The small caps and led with the implications of a minimum global corporate tax now a possibility for larger companies. The Dow lost 126-points, the S&P 500 was down slightly, while the S-fund and I funds picked up solid gains. Bonds and the dollar were down on the day.

TSP Talk: Another jobs report miss leads to... a rally?

by tsptalk on 06-07-2021 at 01:11 AM
Stocks rallied nicely after the May jobs report missed estimates on Friday. This told investors that the economy is growing, but perhaps not fast enough to be concerned about interest rate hikes. The Dow gained 179-points and the dollar was down sharply helping push prices higher in most assets. Bonds rallied with yields falling on the weaker than expected data.
