Really interesting Jim Cramer Tweets this afternoon. He is watching VIX products going down followed by Margin calls which bring the market up. He says the next one at 2:45 could be big.

TSP Talk: S&P 500 suffers 2nd straight losing week

by tsptalk on Today at 01:11 AM
Stocks were down on Friday capping a second straight losing week for the S&P 500. The Dow lost 166-points on Friday, or 0.48%, and small caps held up well with just a minor loss in the S-fund, and the Russell 2000 was actually positive. The S&P and Nasdaq lost 0.91%, and if you're an optimist you may look at this coming week as a bullish opportunity since there have not been three down weeks in a row all year in the S&P. Bonds were down (yields up) and the dollar rallied adding that

TSP Talk: What happened to the GDP?

by tsptalk on 09-17-2021 at 01:11 AM
Another very whippy day for stocks as the quadruple witching expiration draws nearer. Stocks opened higher on Thursday, but the bears did make a move in early trading, pushing the indices uncomfortably lower before they bottomed about 11 AM ET. The bulls took over from there with just a small blip lower toward the end of the trading session. The Dow lost 63-points, but it had been down over 200points at the lows. The Nasdaq posted a modest gain, as did the small caps of the S-fund. The big

TSP Talk: The bulls wake up from their post Labor Day nap

by tsptalk on 09-16-2021 at 01:11 AM
Stocks bounced back for a day after the recent pullback. Some key support held on the S&P 500 so it looks like just another quick dip - bounce - and go situation, but as we've been talking about, we are hitting the wall next week as far as seasonality goes. The Dow gained 237-points, and many of the other indices gained close to 1% on the day, but maybe more important was that the bears didn't sell the rally this time. Bonds and the dollar were down, as was gold, while oil rallied big.

TSP Talk: The bears came back after the one day rally

by tsptalk on 09-15-2021 at 01:11 AM
The better than expected CPI numbers sent the stock futures higher and the indices opened to the upside, but they peaked quickly and the selling started right after the opening bell. There was no buying near the close this time and the Dow ended the day down 292-points or 0.84%. We saw losses closer to -0.5% in many of the broader indices. Bonds rallied and the dollar closed flat.

TSP Talk: Bulls thwart the bears' attempt to sell another rally

by tsptalk on 09-14-2021 at 01:11 AM
Stocks were flat to mostly higher yesterday after a volatile trading session. They opened to the upside but the bears showed up for a while and put some heavy pressure on. But a late rally pushed the indices back into positive territory by the close. The Dow led and closed with a decent gain of 262-points. We saw some gaps get filled and as we've talked about, they did act as support yesterday. Bonds were up, as was the dollar.
