Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!It's more trouble, but I suppose it keeps us from having to change passwords so often. Though, I can't recall the last time, if ever, I was prompted to change my TSP password.

It sounds like they are changing the current two-factor authentication by eliminating the email option. They are also requiring you to create and use a "User ID" instead of your account number for login. I guess that it so it can be easily changed if compromised.
The removal of email authentication is what will affect me most. Yea, it's slow and often doesn't get here in time but the phone option doesn't work at all for me. We aren't allowed to have cellphones at work and the government landlines don't receive text messages. The current two-factor authentication can use a phone but only for SMS, not voice. It sounds like the new two-factor authentication will include voice but it has to be on your personal phone which we aren't allowed to have at work. It will be a bummer to have to go out to the parking lot to make an IFT.

This sucks, I had to redo the whole thing a week ago, they blocked me for no good reason. Now making it harder to IFT!
Everyone needs to call and complain to the helpdesk. When email authentications were taking 20min, I called and told them; now they're almost instant. Need to ring their phones off the hook. They don't know their customers!!!

I live in a NIMBY community that has no cell phone towers nearby. As a result I only get one bar of cell strength, if I'm lucky. This is going to be a big problem for me. And what about people that don't even have cell phones? My parents are in that category. They've just created yet another reason for me to transfer out of the TSP. Grrr.
Well, at least the Chinese won’t be able to check your TSP balance for you.

Is anybody else having trouble getting into their TSP account lately?
My validation code email took almost 3 hours to get to me yesterday at work. That is typical (and useless). I am trying from home this morning and it hasn't shown up at all. It used to get here in seconds. TSP and inadequate two-factor authentication is making my account access impossible. Looks like I'll be pulling my money out of their crappy system when I retire.
