    Bquat,

Saw Cramer this afternoon. He thinks there is some support for oil at around 51$, where a bounce could occur, but he opined the bounce is not assured to continue if buyers don't buy. Thus, he cannot say if oil will keep falling down further. I would suggest anyone not to put all your eggs in one basket. That is, dollar-cost-average into it. If the bounce is short lived or if there is no bounce the trader can buy more at lower prices. It might well be that one is lucky, puts the intended allocation to work, and the markets bounce uninterrupted lay, but this is very risky until we see the price of oil stabilize. Since we don't know when, or if the price will stabilize at 51$, we can wait to see oil recover a bit to the upside, perhaps at 61$ and then increase to a full position. Hope I understood his views correctly, and that this can be helpful.

Thought I would do SPY to ease Spidey's concerns and he doesn't see sell volume dropping off:

Maybe it means something maybe not. Near the closing bell, the S&P ETF that I like to watch stopped moving downward. Not a lot of difference, but the S&P ETF was only down 1.52% vs. 1.62% in the S&P. They usually track close pretty close together, .10% was more than normal. That would seem to me like the ETF had trouble keeping up with the sells, right? The bell rung before they could catch up. So, on Monday could there be .10% fair value in there? I don't know.

I was once told don't buy ETF's right at the open or close because of these irregularities (bid/ask spreads) and partial orders in last 5 minutes etc. etc.. Could that be the case with the VIX/Volume?

We need a 100 Day support but I'm not trusting it.

We may be looking at a 7% correction . The old channel could hold us to 5% but the purple lines haven't been acting as support on the way down.
