that sounds like a pretty good deal then.

one time a squirrel dropped an apple on my head. we were watching the neighbor's cat and when we crossed the street on the way over to feed it, the damn squirrel ran up a big cottonwood after stealing a fallen apple from the yard. when we came out it hit me right on top of the head from like 40' up. it had chewed the apple in this strange star/teeth pattern. it was on purpose, i just know it. stupid chipmunk.

they only time i ever heard my kid laugh louder was when i couldn't drive home on time and accidentally pooped. it rolled down my pant leg into my boot and i stepped on it running to the house. i never found that as funny as he did but i can laugh about it now. true story. crazy.

Okay, since you asked for it. First of all, there is something about that clean air at 7,000 feet that makes for unbelievable sunsets. Every night. No Candybar.jpg

And last, and least, it's probably time to really introduce myself. Whether I'm Lady or River or Steel_Magnolia or Maggie or Ann, this is always me.

First the inverter, manufacturer and model please. Any other technogeek questions I have can be answered by that info.

Second, the battery bank. Manufacturer and model number of the cells, number of cells in the bank please. So called maintenance free batteries or VRLA may actually require some care and feeding. Flooded cell definitely require TLC. Both require a ventilation to the outside. I am sure the technicians told you all this.

Not trying to dis your system or alarm you in any way. Just advising that "maintenance free" battery banks are not maintenance free.

    PessOptimist,

Inverter is an Outback. There are 24 batteries in the bank. They're the same type that are used in telephone microwave sites. That's all that dear husband can remember about them. Sorry I can't answer your questions in more detail, but we're not at the ranch at the moment.

And I wish we were, for many reasons. We've been talking about making trips back often during the winter. We've both fallen in love with the place!

Some of you may remember me posting about a little band my daughter started helping out about three years ago. I posted a couple of their early videos here in the lounge. She still works for them and I thought you might enjoy seeing one of their latest videos. They seem to be doing okay for themselves.

Nope, no profit shares, darn! They did ask her to go with them on their European tour, but her husband and three children objected to having her gone for three months. LOL

They are a great band, SM. Your daughter is lucky to be working with them. Too bad she can't go on the road with them, a once in a lifetime opportunity. They just performed at the Grammy's Sunday night w/ Kendrick Lamar and killed it. Best act of the night..IMHO.

Yes, KK, they did kill it! Pretty impressive for a band that has been in existence for four years, huh! I guess it helped that they share some of the same admin people with The Killers!

Hi gang, I'm back after a six year hiatus to see if there are any old friends still around. And to see if there are friends I haven't met yet. 😉
