The move to Florida is getting close, just 3 weeks left in the Land of Enchantment...got a condo leased near Sarasota (in Lakewood Ranch) and once settled in we'll start the home search.
Sarasota sure has changed since I help move my in-laws there back in "79". Cattlemen Road was all dirt and I-75 was still being built. Love Siesta Keys, beautiful white sand. Turtle Beach was more shell than sand but had some popularity, a part of it (north of the sand dune) was bathing suit top optional. Always enjoyed the Gulf side of Florida vs. the Atlantic side, the water was warmer. The down side, other than growing population, is the red tide is becoming more prevalent.
Congrats on your OPM status and good luck in Sarasota.

I'm seeing lots of fearful headlines and fear in posts. Based on this chart my view is much more bullish, I think today was the low for this pullback. Next week is March OpEx week, which is normally very bullish. This week's consecutive closes below the Bollinger Bands in NYMO is very bullish...

Tsunami, I hope you are right. I fell below my 2018 start numbers, but I'm still positive for the year.

Hate to be the one to break it to ya Mcq; but the futures closed Friday, and won't open again until Sunday.

Agreed. Friday futures less than meaningless. Monday could fall like a rock. Up and down moves have been lengthening recently, and this one we're on may not be over. Tread carefully.

Oh, I know that...but after the futures being almost exclusively red this past week it’s nice to see a little green anywhere!

Haven't posted in a couple weeks, it's been crunch time for our move to Florida. Moving hurts! Thanks to a great realtor we sold our house in one day! Today is our last day in our house in ABQ then away we go heading east tomorrow.

Let's see, i was right about options week being bullish, and the consensus from my reading is that once this little dip is done (maybe today) then the rally should continue. We'll see. Have to be careful though and I'll offer this up as food for thought....

Made it to Florida last week unscathed and we're now settled into our rental condo...we watch the local gator patrol the big lake from our Lanai each day. Got our drivers licenses/car titles and registration done today...Now shifting gears to the retirement home search.

I realized today that I messed up and put in a trade to go to G but never cancelled that once I decided not to make that IFT in my actual account, oh well. The index's seem to be wedging into a high though, and I get more nervous every day.

Wow, looks to me like the S&P will be peaking just above 3000 in early to mid-May.

Retirement update...I waited a month for OPM to fix a small error in my annuity...contacted them to find out the status..."uh, sorry, looks like we forgot to forward your email to a case worker, I'll do it now"...sheez

We made an offer on our dream home and it got accepted, now counting down to closing date next month...really enjoying life in the Sarasota area!

    Tsunami,

Glad to hear things are working out for you in retirement. Really like the Sarasota area, it has changed a lot in 40 years.
