for many, yes and can be so much less stressful. however, a proper entry point - even with buy and hold - can mean quite a lot.

i should qualify my last. if starting from zero the entry point will not matter in buy and hold over time. if you have a sizeable nest egg already - then it can very much.

IMHO buy and hold only works during a Bull Market, however still have to watch for the big correction downturns.
