Thread: optionman's Account Talk

    Default optionman's Account Talk

This is the optionman signing on with a challenge to all TSP participants and systems for 2008. The challenge is simple. Can your system beat mine? the winner is simply the highest percentage gain overall at the end of 2008. I will post all of my transfers the day I make them and then post the price at the end of the day.

I am currently 100% in the F fund as of the close 28 Dec 07, entry price 11.90

You will have to track and compare results on your own since there are so many of us using our own indicators, systems etc.

    Good luck and happy trading.

    Welcome Aboard optionman.

But we'll give you a heads up-
People don't have to track their own results- that is what we have the Autotracker for.

When you've met the posting qualifications outlined here- http://www.tsptalk.com/mb/showthread...427#post113427

you can sign up for the free autotracker, and then everyone can see how you are performing.

    Good luck.

Meow - Mindy Lou gladly accepts your system challenge. The Mindy Lou system along with the Ferdinand seismograph are the only true indicators really needed for limited success. Good to have another system on board - have you met the "Cooler" yet?

Welcome to our forums. You can join our Automated Tracker once you have 10 posts. Read the Automated Tracker Rules in my signature. Its been recording our members' IFTs and returns since August 31st. Click Members Ranking to see the current return rankings of our members.

You should have posted this in the Member Introductions forum. This is where new members introduce themselves. We only recognize the returns of members who enter their TSP IFTs and allocations in our Automated Tracker. Read the Automated Tracker Rules in my signature. Create a "optionman Account Talk" thread in our Members' Account Talk forum.

    Default Game On!!

Thanks to all for the welcome and for those who accepted the challenge GAME ON!!. I don't find it necessary to use the tracker on this site so I will use my own. One member stated we don't recognize your IFTs if you don't use the tracker, well then, so be it.

For those who do choose to compare your results with mine just review my latest post. I will post all IFTs prior to the market open the day I make them and post again with entry price after the close so you will always know my position and when I'm moving between funds. I will also post a history for each trade, as an example:

    100% F Fund from 28 Dec 07, entry 11.90 to 20 Jan 08 exit XXXX
    100% G Fund from 20 Jan 08, entry $$$$--etc.

I am currently 100% F Fund as of the close 28 Dec 07, entry price $11.90

For those option traders out there, I just made a killing on some Jan SPY puts, looking for a possible scalp trade here and may jump into some DITM Jan or Feb calls for a day or so, perhaps a little longer if the FED steps in to save the day. Expecting a relief rally soon maybe today.

    Good luck and happy trading.

I don't think it's going to worth anybody's time to check your numbers if you don't use the autotracker.

    Default optionman using autotracker

Based on TSP message board participant recommendations I've decided to go ahead and use the autotracker system on this site once I've met the requirements. Until then, I will post any IFTs for those of you who are trying desperately to beat my results so you will be able to monitor them until I can use autotracker. Thanks for your input.

    Good luck and happy trading.

Default Market Wrap for 9 Jan

Stock Funds Signal: Short, signal date 17 Dec 07. SPX had a strong up day today, histo up, candle may qualify as a bullish piercing pattern, macd is still on a sell signal, 50/200 MAs sell signal, VIX rising and the 20 EMA rising, both the 50 day and 30 week EMA are descending and prices closing below them, ROC (14 week on weekly) is down, indications point to continued market weakness, but we could be witnessing a bottom here. We will have to wait and see. A close above 1420 would have me considering some calls while if SPX bumps up a little more, but can’t overcome 1420 I would be looking to buy some puts when it stalls. For my TSP trading system, my signal remains bearish on all stock funds.

It still doesn’t feel like we have the capitulation we need to wash out this market. Just not an ugly enough panic sell off yet where everyone is screaming and running for the doors, a way to neat and orderly bottom, maybe after this relief rally or maybe we are there, we shall soon see.

Bond Fund Signal: Long, signal date 27 Dec 07. Bonds remain on a buy signal, they (AGG) had a down day today and created a bearish harami candle pattern, but the TNX went down also which is somewhat of a divergence. Weekly macd signal line is curling up, ROC is up. Bonds are OB and may sell off a little but my buy signal remains in effect. I remain 100% F fund.

    Good Luck and Happy Trading

Not sure if this is the place to ask, but why don't they sort the autotracker by YTD instead of since 8-31-07? The old tracker was sorted YTD. Just wondering.
