I'm just glad that the grown ups prevailed over the extremists who said they didn't feel compelled to negotiate with their hostages.

Debt ceiling agreement in principle reached between Democrats, Republicans
The agreement comes just days ahead of Treasury Secretary Yellen's June 5 deadline.
An agreement in principle has been reached on the debt ceiling, Fox News has learned.
According to multiple sources, an all GOP House conference call is scheduled to happen at 9:30 p.m. Saturday about the debt limit negotiations. President Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy were scheduled to speak by phone Saturday night at 6 p.m. to discuss a potential debt limit deal, Fox News learned.

So, I wonder what this all really means and how it will play out next week. Will we be Green to the moon come Tuesday morning??? Who gave up what??????

It's not a 100% done deal as of yet. I think they called it "an agreement in Principal". It still has a few hurtles to clear before it's signed off on.
I watched some of the McCarthy live stream this morning, so we'll see what happens moving forward.
All I care about is how does it affect the market starting next week, and can we make money off of it ??
    I need money. I'm broke ! ! ! !

Still early, but I thought I'd see a little more enthusiasm in the futures since the Debt Ceiling bill passed last night. Instead it's just Meh ........

That’s great, but I’m kicking myself for playing it so safe this year when there’s been a rally right in front of me.

Don't be so hard on yourself. The rally is always behind you. We never know what's in front of us.

Yes, very true. Also, the slow climb up takes a lot more nerve to risk it all in this unpredictable economy, the way things happen just with someone's tone of voice (hawkish/dovish). Big losses can happen hard and fast. It all depends on how much your willing to risk it. I'm still not that confident in the way things are going. Still too sketchy for me.
Just look at futures this morning. Asia tanked overnight. That's gonna have an impact. I'm sure.....

Jobs Report this morning. Nothing major in either direction. Just kinda meh..... Steady as she goes I guess.
The most hires were in Gov. followed by Health Care at #2.
Something that caught my ear was that many of the Talking Heads reporting on this were saying they expected NO Rate Hike in September. I guess we'll wait and see.....

Also, hourly wages went up just a tad, but the hours worked per week slipped to just about 34 instead of a full 40. When you decrease your hours but still make the same, then naturally your hourly rate will show an increase, right??? So your not earning more, your just working less........

The U.S. economy added 187,000 jobs in July, fewer than expected
