I just wanted to THANK everyone on this MB you all have been very informative and entertaining. I recently did a full withdraw on my TSP and it became effective 10/26/16 put into a traditional IRA under advisement from my financial advisor. I have been retired for 2.5 years and increased my tsp account $21,000 since retiring but my advisor has bigger plans for me and I trust him completely. I'm no kind of guru and I have done all that I know to do with my limited experience, so I thought it time to put in the hands of someone who knows what he's doing. I know there's no real reason tsp wise to look at this site since I don't have any skin in this game anymore, but I will look in fro time to time and say HEYYY... I wish you all the best and will peek in on you. Thanks again Guchi (that's short for yamaguchi my middle name and moms maiden name). Peace out....

Just an FYI... I stumbled on an article on this homepage that said tsp expands to move on withdraw options. It will not help me but it may help others, I recently withdrew my tsp money. I think what they are doing tells me several things. 1 a change is needed in order to compete with private industry to keep tsp accounts. 2 something is broken with the tsp and they are desperate to make a change. 3 I heard from a veteran early in my career that when the govt offers you something it's not for your benifits (they were offering me to convert from CSRS to fers, I did not switch). I still don't know why they won't offer to make the deadline 4pm instead of 12pm, that makes more sense to me. The 12 pm deadline is like playing cards with a half deck. It makes me question (and this change is for who???) the tsp has made several changes in my career and the way I feel about is I did not sign up for that but had to no choice but to swallow it and keep moving. It's like changing the rules of the game while you are actively playing. Whatever happened to the grandfather rule? Well I'm done ranting, did not mean to get into it this far but got caught up. Even tho I'm out it still burns my azz and its not right. Right is right and wrong is wrong....
