A while back, Tom said the S&P 500 needed to gain 48% to break even with its 23 Mar closing low of 2,237.39. Well, it has gained 42.75% since then. Therefore, it is now 5.25% away from breaking even.
Do you now see why you do not sell at a huge loss? Mr. Market always has, and always will recover... until the inevitable Apocalypse. Then it won't matter.

Who knows for sure what will happen next right...I mean I was one of those who thought the S&P wouldn't cross back over the 3000 mark for a while but here we are. The past two days the market has actually been reacting appropriately to the news (withinitial jobless claims causing a small dip and the unemployment causing a jump). One of the reasons I decided to jump into S yesterday was because of the big week coming up with the FOMC and OPEC meetings...lets hope for some more support from Mr. Powell this week! It's been a crazy ride the past couple of months, I'm sure the next couple of months will be just about as interesting...let's hope we can all time our moves appropriately so we can come out handsomely in the end.

Today would have been the day that I went positive for the year. If I was still a buy-n-holder @ 60 (C) and 40 (S), my YTD would now be @ 0.22%. That is not very far behind my true YTD of 3.27%. It could very well surpass it by the end of the week. I guess that'll teach me to give up as a buy-n-holder!

Seems the buy and holders are once again being rewarded for thier patience. No sense chasing returns however. Just gonna cry in my beer and wait for the next pullback...

FYI...
I have initiated the transfer of my TSP to my TD Ameritrade. Therefore, do not expect me to initiate anymore IFT's. I look forward to the freedom I will have investing the $$$! No noon deadlines! No IFT limits! FREEDOM!
BTW, this month marks 16 years that I have been with TSPTalk. I won't completely disappear. But, you will see less and less of me.
God Bless
