    Welcome,

You've done good enough for government work so far. (Maybe an Admin will correct a minor mistake you made in naming this thread...your thread. ).

I recommend exploring the site...checking out links to see what they do, etc.

Welcome! You can learn a lot here. Read..read..read. You may want to do that, consider a premium servce, etc before you jumping into this very risky market. Thinking this year maybe very rough. I don't think a long term buy and hold strategy will work this year. Short in and outs, probably not risking more than 50%, etc. Timing this market is hard and risky. Best wishes!!

I agree that this coming year is likely going to be a rough one and will likely have a downward trend making a buy and hold move a fools game. I just moved into the S fund, more out of a Pavlovian response than anything. Last year when the Chinese market went south, I did very well. I knew enough to wait it out and timed it almost perfectly with only 1 loss day out of that whole pay period and end up with almost a $1700 gain from the upward bounce that occurred afterward. My biggest problem is that I got greedy and started seeing dollars signs and by the end of the year, had lost all my gains from September and October. Hoping not to repeat that mistake.

Sort of like going for that last blue ghost in Pac-Man...
    50% S, 50% C 06 Mar, was 100% G; 80% S 20% C COB 08 Jan '24; 100% G COB 14 Nov; was 100% C COB 31 Oct (Boo!); was 100% G COB 12 Oct; was 50% C, 50% S COB 22 Jun; Life is good!
