    Default DreamboatAnnie's Account Talk

    Note to all:

Ford is now selling a hybrid F-150 truck with a built in 7,200 watt generator, so you can hook it directly to your house, and power most of the things in the house with no difficulty.

It’s kind of expensive at around $65k. But - hey, it’s innovative, and it’s made in the USA by American Union labor.

The F-150 basic Propower system is just 2,400 watts, and will power a furnace, and some lighting. But if you have a desire, for just $750 more, you can get the massive 7,200 watt generator Propower system as an option. Ford thought construction folks will buy that. It turns out Texas suddenly has made lots of folks think differently about powering their jokes in an emergency- and F-150 hybrids lithium battery allows the use of thus big generator.

I hope they have a great antitheft system on the truck.
May the force be with us.

Wow! Great info James...Thank you! I have been thinking about getting a Ford F150 as a back up vehicle for going to the ranch or camping, but had no idea you could get one with a generator. I have also thought about buying a small generator for emergencies. So, marrying up a truck with generator would kill two birds with one stone; but the price tag is scary! Will need to think about that, but its sure nice if doing construction at a rural site or clearing land using chain saw and other power tools, etc...

Living in New England a generator is a necessity. I use a plug in generator with a transfer switch in the house but many use the built in standby generators. I really cant’t see not having one after all these years anymore. We’re moving to Alabama next year but my generator will go with me unless I decide to do the built in kind.

Hi Al, That would be very wise! High Temps are very hard ..well, unless your sitting in the shade by a river sipping a cold one! lol....
But kidding aside, that is a sound plan. I need to seriously look into pricing. The Built in sounds great, but should think the one with transfer switch is what I would need and maybe less expensive.

I have an older HVAC so would nice to stay in house when it gets changed out. Last one replaced in 2006 and had mom living here at that time...had to get hotel while work was done....of course it went out in 100 degree weather. Best wishes to you!

Regarding market, I had no ability to view charts and data was unavailable...until Friday. With drop, I decided to stay in and thought now is to the time to buy more once it gets to a short-term bottom. I don't think its there yet; although I understand Fed is to speak before Congressional committee this morning? (1500 Gmt) to Senate banking committee and tomorrow to House Financial services committee. The talking heads are hopeful and say this will bolster the market with possible talk on how Fed will continue to "control" inflation. https://www.forexlive.com/centralban...ields-20210222

Hummm... maybe it will work to calm market but not sure...keeping my 50% in G fund in for now and other 50% in S fund... ugghhh my wonderful earnings this month are quickly disappearing.
The only saving grace is that dip buyers are stepping in...look at that long tail on today's candle. Yesterday's candle broke below rising wedge, so today's drop is not a total surprise. Stochastic still not yet dropped below 20 so seems it could lose much more... my February buyin is still in the black....

I also heard on FBN this morning, that market is dropping because the level of 10 year bonds went up so quickly (level rose 2.5 times last year's level..???), and this will cause future tech earnings to be "discounted" and this makes them more vulnerable to pullbacks. Just lovely!

Best wishes to you all* !!!!

Quick note on those FordF-150 Pickups with the built in Pro-Power 7.3 Kilowatt generator:

I just talked to my local ford dealer, and they confirm you CAN ORDER the Pro-Power 7.3 Kilowatt generator on a Hybrid 3.5 Liter engine truck, only in the XLT and the Lariat configuration, and it looks like they are almost completely SOLD OUT within 300 miles of my house in Michigan on dealer lots- you have to actually order one right now, and wait for it to be built.

It's a $750 option when you get the hybrid. With few other options you are looking at around $54,000 and up. FUll options packages you are into the $60K range.

That said- it probably was a very smart idea for somebody to come up with that option, as it appears to be selling a whole lot of trucks all of a sudden.

(And Ford Trucks, like other US vehicles, are having problems getting computer chips, and production is slowed right now).

Buy FORD stock, now around $11.

Ford price sounds good! Here is S chart as of a few mins ago. Monday's candle broke below the rising wedge. Yesterday's candle dropped further but did not close below mid-term trendline and today's candle is bouncing...so support held that is good. Will see how we end tge day.
    Best wishes to all!!!
